Frequently asked questions

What is Craftadoc?

Craftadoc turns Typst templates into guided forms, so anyone can make beautiful, consistent PDF documents without technical knowledge.

Do I need an account?

You can browse templates without one. To fill in a template and keep your documents, create a free account.

What is a template?

A Typst project with a description of its form. See Creating templates.

What is a document?

Your values for a template. Craftadoc stores every saved version, and makes the PDF from the latest one whenever you download it.

When is my document saved?

Automatically, a moment after you stop typing, as long as every field is valid.

Can I change a document later?

Yes. Open it from My documents; the form shows your saved values.

What happens when a template gets a new version?

Your document keeps using the version it was made with, so it never changes unexpectedly. When you want the newer version, the editor offers to move your document to it.

Can I change a template?

Yes: make a copy of it, which becomes your own private template, and change the copy: describe the change to the AI, or change the code yourself, with a preview next to it. Copying works for templates whose author shares the source, under a licence that allows changes. See Copying templates.

Why Typst instead of LaTeX?

Typst produces the same high-quality typography, compiles in milliseconds, and has clear error messages. That makes live previews possible and templates much easier to write.

Can I use Craftadoc with my AI assistant?

Yes, on the Personal and Pro plans: connect Craftadoc to Claude, ChatGPT or another assistant that supports MCP, and it fills in templates for you. See Use with your AI assistant.

How do I delete my data?

Delete documents from My documents: one at a time, or select many at once. They stay in Recently deleted for 14 days, in case you change your mind, and are then removed for good. To remove your account and all its data straight away, use Delete account on your account page.
