Use with your AI assistant

Connect Craftadoc to Claude, ChatGPT or another AI assistant that supports MCP (the Model Context Protocol). Then just ask: "Make me a business card with my details", "Turn my CV into the AltaCV template", or "Write a Halloween invitation for Saturday at 8". The assistant picks a template, fills in the form, checks the result and gives you links to edit the document or download the PDF.

This is part of the Personal and Pro plans. It uses your assistant's own subscription, so it doesn't count against your AI fill-ins.

The address

https://craftadoc.com/api/mcp

Your account page shows it too, with a copy button. When you connect, your assistant opens Craftadoc: sign in, and choose Allow.

Claude

In Claude (on the web or the desktop app), open Settings → Connectors, choose Add custom connector, give it the name Craftadoc and the address above, and choose Connect.

Claude Code

claude mcp add --transport http craftadoc https://craftadoc.com/api/mcp

Then type /mcp in Claude Code and choose craftadoc to sign in.

ChatGPT and others

In ChatGPT, add a custom connector (an MCP server) in the settings, with the address above. Other assistants that support remote MCP servers with OAuth sign-in work the same way: add the address, then sign in when asked.

What your assistant can do

ToolWhat it does
find_templatesSearch the templates
get_templateRead a template's form, its example values and sizes
create_documentSave a new document in your account
update_documentChange a document
get_document, list_documentsRead your documents
preview_documentLook at the pages, to check the result
make_pdfMake a PDF without saving a document
make_pdfs, get_batchMake many PDFs at once, as one .zip
delete_documentsDelete documents (to Recently deleted)

By default your assistant saves a document, with a link to open it in the editor (where you can add a photo or change anything) and a PDF link that works for 24 hours. Documents count towards your plan like any other.

When you only need the PDF, say so: the assistant then makes it without saving anything, and the link works for 3 days. For many PDFs at once (certificates for a class, letters to a list of people), it makes them as one batch instead of separate documents. These PDFs count towards your allowance per 5 hours and per week (see limits).

Documents your assistant deletes go to Recently deleted in My documents, where you can restore them for 14 days.

Privacy and disconnecting

Your assistant only sees what it asks Craftadoc for while you use it: templates, and the documents it reads or makes. What you tell your assistant is handled by its provider under their terms. To stop it, choose Disconnect under AI assistants on your account page; it loses access straight away.
